Abstract
:
Accurate forecasting and planning allow the company to predict the future. It also avoids hypothetical product stocks. It can help to produce efficient production scheduling and meet the customer demand and market factors. Forecasting can assist in non-FMCG products with these factors. This research contains the tools, and mathematical equation to get the best possible forecast for a Non-FMCG items. Using the sales data which were collected from an FMCG retailer and using many mathematical forecasting model either qualitative or quantitative. To learn about forecasting, we have adopted the mathematical model. If the forecast is under the estimated sales, then the bias is considered negative for the company. Time series is the method that provides an ideal solution for the problem of correlated data. Comparing other methods to the time series shows that the time series method can obtain the most accurate forecasts for the demonstrated. It can also be stated that, for a Non-FMCG product, quantitative forecast is not always the best solutions, especially for items with short life cycles like smartphones, and sometimes using a simple forecasting model like Moving Average Forecasting can give more desired results in a much shorter time. One of the major outcomes that need to be stated, we cannot treat and use the same forecasting method for all of the Non-FMCG items, usually items within the same product type have different behaviors
