Abstract : electronic commerce enables companies to be efficient and flexibal in their internal operation to work more closely with their suppliers and to be more responsive to the needs and expectations of their customers there are serval factors that prevent the widespread use of E-commerce such as lack of knowledge and lack of trust in internet security in this research effort of the internet security on doing online transactions the leading reason for not making transaction on the internet was found to be related to internet security and to the fear of being robbed by hackers or internet pirates we conclude by drafting a range of recommendation to more effective e - commerce activities on the internet
