Abstract
:
An optimal control strategy for the modulation of the DC power of rnultitermirial HYDC Systems is proposed. The modulated DC power is utilized to enhance the operation of AC systems. The linear programming optimization method along with the feasible direction algorithm was used to obtain the optimum DC current settings. The control strategy has been tested on two hypothetical multi-terminal HVDC systems. The proposed strategy proves to be effective in improving the system response. Another characteristic of this scheme is that improvements of one machine will not be at the expense of other machines. The control scheme will enhance the transient stability if there is a room in the power system to enhance.
